Ants cannot eat anything at all, except something that comes from the Queen Ant (I don't remember what it's called.) That is why they try so hard, long, and quickly, to bring her food on a regular basis. If they don't work, they don't eat. So, all those bread, and sugar, and cereal crumbs that you see them carrying around. They can't eat any of it, because they can't digest it. They just take it home to Mommy.
